What’s Free Prior and Informed Consent?

For all our visual learners Check out this great FPIC explainer from allies at the Pueblo Action Alliance

Many of us hear the words “free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC)” within Indigenous organizing spaces, but what does it actually mean?

These infographics break down the importance of FPIC as vitally expressed in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).

This is important language that we must understand as we push forward to Indigneous self-determination, sovereignty and resurgence of Indigneous Identity.
